Elizabeth, Seth & Ellen – National Talent Camp 2015

Are you an active British Cycling Young Volunteer between the age of 14 and 18 years? Would you like to build on and develop your leadership and volunteering skills further? Are you keen on a fully funded residential weekend away at the prestigious Loughborough University from 16-19 December 2016, where you will get to hang out with over 350 other young volunteers and athletes in a multi-sport, multi-disciplinary environment? Then read on because the National Talent Camp may be just the thing for you!

Every year, British Cycling’s Go-Ride team and the Youth Sport Trust offer the above opportunity for ambitious young coaches and aspiring officials who are currently on the BC Cycling Award for Young Volunteers programme. Slipstreamers are very keen for our Young Volunteers to consider this opportunity, so if you are  between the age of 14 and 18, currently an active BC Young Volunteer, and the prospect of a weekend packed full of exciting activities, interesting and reflective workshops, and a chance to meet and make friends with like-minded peers appeals to you; then click here to find out more and download an application form.

Applications are now open for those of you who meet the following criteria:

  • Be in full time, compulsory or college education (between 14-18 years old)
  • Be passionate about cycling and either coaching or officiating
  • Be a member of a British Cycling Affiliated Club
  • Be an active volunteer in cycling
  • Be registered on the Cycling Award for Young Volunteers
  • Be able attend the dates of the camp (16 to 19 December)
  • Be able to coordinate and cover travel arrangements and expenses to get to and from Loughborough
  • To commit to fulfil their role (coach or official) and complete a reflective blog at a minimum of two local, regional, or national British Cycling events, over the following year
  • To identify a mentor, within your club or community, who is happy to offer guidance, support and direction in your role
