Westerley Time Trials – 2nd July

An evening of experimentation at the circuit this Wednesday as both Josh Copley and Sam Henning took to the circuit, racing on fully equipped Time Trial machines for the first time. Both riders made significant improvements to their previous times, both looking very proud with their results. Sam recorded a 23 minute and 4 seconds (previously at the Westerley 10 was 24:50) and Josh surprised himself by coming in just under 24 minutes with a 23:59 (previously at the Westerley was 25:48). Ben Moriarty continues to improve steadily, his relaxed facial expression and positioning on the bike gave him a superb 24:24, making a significant dent in his previous outing of 25:42.

Jamie Wimbourne has been adding some interval training into his own training programme, and recorded a 28:03 which smashes his previous outing of 29:17. Nathan, saving himself for his School Sport’s day, managed a 32:31 against his previous time of 32:06. Ella Coleman continues to ride steadily recording a 35:21 and taking off almost a minute against her previous of 36:18!

Jess Henning, who has just turned 12, made her debut in a senior time trial. She rode a little nervously at first, yet still managed to record a 34:25 and we hope that an increase in her confidence as she races more is reflected in future events.

Well done everyone. It made a terrific evening for spectating!
