Another Young Volunteer, Simon, Shines in Gold

Last week we celebrated 3 Slipstreamers who go out of their way to volunteer with British Cycling, giving their time to learn new skills and to make a difference. This week, we celebrate the fantastic news that Simon Passey, a face many of you will no doubt be very familiar with, has attained his Gold Young Volunteer award. This is no mean feat, as many of you in this programme will already know, especially when you are still studying, training at whatever sport you do, and of course are a teen! Moreover, Simon is also a Level 1 Coach, so amidst all the other stuff he does, he would have had to amass a grand total of 36 volunteer hours!  Very well done on your Gold award Simon – you deserve it and we are all VERY fortunate and most proud to have you here at Slipstreamers!

Are you Interested in becoming Young Volunteer?

There are a range of benefits gained from this programme, and we actively encourage our Slipstreamers to sign up when they turn 14 – aside from the skills and opportunities gained, you also receive a nice bunch of freebies! If you want to find out more, visit the BC Young Volunteer page for more details, feel free to talk to any of your coaches, or don’t hesitate to email us for more information.
