A record number of enthusiastic mountain bikers arrived for sign-on at the Dews Farm Quarry last Saturday, 13th September, ready to get down and dirty, and have some fun. A few spills and bruises notwithstanding, the session turned out to be one of the best yet, with a fantastic morning had by all!

What a great way to wrap things up for the year – glorious dry weather, no mud (although some argue mud makes it better!), and smiles all round at the end.

The venue has been a great success, an opportunity to put into practice some of the skills learned at the circuit and to learn some new techniques on steeper and oftener muddier terrain. A HUGE thank you from the MTB Coaching team, and of course the Mudslingers who are regulars at Dews Farm, to Paul Wood, who secured the Dews Farm venue and made it all happen for the mountain bikers. We can’t wait for next year, when we’ll be returning to Dew’s Farms from around April – dates to be confirmed. In meantime we’ll be encouraging all our riders to try some of the local MTB races this Autumn (look at the Race Calendar for more details). It would great to get a MTB “Mudslingers” race team together, so we can dominate the podiums like we did in Black Park in May!  Anyone thinking of racing, or if you have any questions about what is involved, please do talk to Alex or Mark.
