The next Track session at Calshot is on Sunday the 26th October, i.e. this weekend. There are still a few places left for Sunday, so if you are interested in trying this out, please get in touch ASAP. Slipstreamers subsidise this so you only pay £5 to ride. You will need to pay on Saturday at the circuit, in advance, as we no longer take payments on the day. If you are booked for Sunday, but have not yet paid and have not received verbal or written confirmation from the signon team that you are indeed confirmed, please email us ASAP or see us on Saturday.

If You Are Attending Please Take Note:
  • The session starts at 1pm and ends at 5pm. Signon will commence from around 12.30pm.
  • Most Slipstreamers tend to arrive from around 12pm, and can be found in the on-site cafe or on the beach from around 12pm.
  • You are able to hire bikes from Calshot directly for £8.20. Alternatively, talk to our mechanics at the Clubhouse on Saturday as they have a small selection of Track bikes which you may be able to hire for £2.
  • Shoes are also for hire for £3.90 – although, the smaller bikes tend to have toeclips so trainers will be fine.
  • The indoor temperature is always colder than outside – layer up, and bring spares – it gets cold.
  • Don’t forget to bring your rollers/turbo to warm up in between sessions.
  • While cards are accepted for the main transactions, there is no cash point on site – have some handy for the coffee machine!
  • Bring drinks and healthy snacks to re-fuel – riders (and parents!) will get hungry!
  • Parking is free for Calshot users – let reception know you are there for the Slipstreamers session.
Once riders are signed on and ready to ride:
  • You will be arranged into groups by the coaches, normally based on experience, age, and/ or numbers.
  • Pay attention so that when your group is called you are ready to ride. Time is always tight and your coaches won’t wait for people that are not ready!
  • Whilst Slipstreamers are riding, parents observe either from the seating around the track or from the middle, so if you have camping chairs it is worth bringing them along!
And finally, if you are really keen to try out Track and grab one of the last few places, but still unsure – we’d say go for it! The last session in September was attended by a large group of first timers just like you, and thanks to the skill and expertise of our Chief Track Coach, Steve, novice riders were taken through the basics, and before long they were up riding around the track and confidently taking part! Aside from it being a wonderful day out and a chance to learn a completely new and different set of cycling skills, what makes the Calshot track such a great ride is the fact that it is actually the steepest banked track velodrome in the South of England! If it’s your first time riding on Sunday, do click here to read a bit more on this.REMINDER RE TRACK CLUB CHAMPS: The next Calshot session on the 22nd November is the Club Champs event. If you are interested in taking part, you must pre-book with the signon team by either emailing your interest tor talking to us at the clubhouse. Please do not email the track coach directly – this is the old process and no longer applicable for Calshot bookings.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to talk to us on Saturday, or email us and we’d be happy to clarify things for you.
