Winter is almost here and many of you are taking to your turbo’s to keep fit! Of course, this is not quite as exciting as being on a circuit or a muddy trail, so we would like to encourage you to find the karaoke version of Meghan Trainor’s song “All About The Bass”, and sing the following fantastic poetic masterpiece along to get you in the mood and pedalling!
To be sung to the tune of Meghan (Turbo) Trainor’s  “All About The Bass”:
Because you know
I’m all about that bike ’bout that bike – go pedal
I’m all about that bike ’bout that bike – go pedal
I’m all about that bike ’bout that bike – go pedal
I’m all about that bike ’bout that bike

Yeah it’s pretty clear, I need new inner tubes
This bike is shakin shakin. Like it’s not meant to do
I heard a boom boom when I was in chase
My wheels went clunk in all the wrong places

I read those magazines with ads from cycle shops
Hey man that stuff ain’t real, you got to make it stop
My bike’s got beauty beauty. I get that wheel off
And check all round my tyre from the bottom to the top

Now my mama she told me to get on the right frame size
She said make sure your booty is placed at the right saddle height
She said you don’t need no 4 figure titanium or carbon job
Your legs are your power now go ahead and spin along

Because you know
I’m all about that bike ’bout that bike – go pedal
I’m all about that bike ’bout that bike – go pedal
I’m all about that bike ’bout that bike – go pedal
I’m all about that bike ’bout that bike

You’re doing the devil sprint!
Big gear and high cadence pedalling
You keep on saying that you think you’re fast
I’m here to tell you every inch of tarmac matters at the bottom of the track

Yes my mama she told me to get on the right frame size
She said make sure your booty is placed at the right saddle height
She said you don’t need no 4 figure titanium or carbon job
Your legs are your power now go ahead and spin along

Because you know
I’m all about that bike
I’m all about that bike
I’m all about that bike
I’m all about that bike

Isn’t that fantastic? The poets have asked to remain anonymous, however we can reveal they are fellow Slipstreamers!  In fact, we think this is such a wonderful idea and are convinced there are more of you with such impeccable creative skills, and we would love to show them off! So if you ever fancy writing a short story, a poem, a song, or even drawing – as long as it has a cycling related theme, we will review it and if it passes our criteria, will publish it via this newsletter for all to see. Do email your pieces – we can’t wait to see what you come up with!
