Tom & Ollie

Last Saturday, 28th of February, a number of Slipstreamers made their way to the London Velodrome at Lee Valley to join in the excitement of the Revolution series. Tom and Ollie were amongst these, and sent in the follow fantastic reports about their exciting evening amongst cycling royalty! Enjoy.

Autographs galore!

By Tom Portsmouth:

“I went to Revolution at Lee Valley velodrome and it was good fun. It was the first time I’d watched from the track centre, but the sound of the announcements was difficult to hear. When the sprinters came off the track past us, they looked massive!

I spent half the time getting my jersey signed by Ed Clancy, Rob Hayles, Andy Tennant, Pete Kennaugh, Laura Trott, Katie Archibald, Glen O’Shea and Bobridge, and Jon Mould who helped get Kennaugh’s. Sadly I didn’t get Jason Kenny. The Hoy Future Starts races were inspiring. In the derny racing the noise was deafening and I really enjoyed the team elimination. When Clancy won the longest lap there was a huge roar – it was amazing how long they could track stand for.”

“On Saturday night I went to watch the Revolution track races. This was at the Olympic Velodrome and we had tickets to be in the middle. I met Tom Portsmouth and we had great fun getting lots of autographs and photos. We were really close to Laura Trott and she signed my autograph book and my sisters. My favourite part was when I jumped the fence to get Peter Kennaugh’s autograph at the end of the races. I loved watching the racing, they went so fast and I could see them doing the same things we do at Calshot although much faster. The Madison was brilliant fun to watch so I was wondering, Dave, can we have some Madison practice at Calshot please?”
